Prior to delving into the chapter's content, we, as the authors, would like to emphatically establish that this chapter is specifically dedicated to on the occasion of his superannuation, in profound recognition of his exceptional contributions as a distinguished physician. His invaluable services and dedication have significantly impacted the field, and we offer this chapter as a heartfelt tribute to his remarkable career. Globally, the realm of virology has unfolded with the recognition of thousands of viruses that have pervaded the living spectrum, inciting a diverse array of ailments. The seminal moments that crystallized the existence of these diminutive entities transpired in 1892,marked by the revelation of the tobacco mosaic virus within tobacco plants, followed by the identification of the foot and mouth disease virus in cattle in 1898.These landmark discoveries heralded the advent of virus awareness.
